Brooklyn Bridge seen from Pebble Beach

Jane’s Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park

Jane's Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge.

I attended a timelapse workshop last year at Brooklyn Bridge Park lead by Emeric LeBars and Brian Youchak. Two awesome timelapse creators. During the workshop I captured this clip of Jane’s Carousel.

The carousel has an interesting history it was formerly the Idora Park Merry-Go-Round. It is a carved, wooden, 48-horse carousel that was built in 1922 for the Idora Park amusement park in Youngstown, Ohio by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.  It was carved by John Zalar and Frank Carretta. When Idora Park closed to the public in 1984, the carousel was bought at auction. I was moved to Brooklyn for restoration. And, was opened to the public at its new location in Brooklyn Bridge Park on the East River in Brooklyn on September 16, 2011.

Queens Lightning Storm

Composite of lightning over Queens NYC

New York City has had a lot of rain in July of 2021. I was able to capture a bunch if images and create this super short timelapse clip. Hope you enjoy.

Ring of Fire

Sunrise

Early this morning (June 10th) there occurred an annular solar eclipse or “Ring of Fire.” This was best viewed from Canada, Greenland and Russia. But, here in Queens NY we were able to see a partial eclipse.

I was able to capture this partial “Ring of Fire” from my terrace. I hope you enjoy!

Central Park South

Billionaires Row seen from Central Park NYC

I had to run an errand in Manhattan this week and took my camera gear. I rode the subway which I haven’t done in about eighteen months. And, got off near Central Park. I shot this clip of the clouds flying by some historic buildings in the area like the Essex House as well as some of the crazy tall sky scrappers now going up.

2020 Timelapse Collection

NYC skyline from Gantry Park

Hi all,

The year 2020 is behind us. A year like none in my memory. To keep from going crazy I started shooting timelapse sequences from the terrace of my apartment. I have good view. I’ve assembled some of my clips from the terrace and other places into a 2020 review.

I hope you enjoy.
